The 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgment is an electronic version of a phone call or fax that notifies a retailer who sent a purchase order whether the vendor will be filling the purchase order as requested.

Upon the receipt of 850 purchase orders into Sage MAS through MAPADOC, the end-user would identify whether the items for those orders will be shipped “complete.” The end-user can then select a single order or a group of orders to send the 855 to the retailer.

A unique feature of MAPADOC, available in version Sage MAS 90/200 4.2 and higher, allows end users the ability to automate the 855 process when they always ship complete for a particular trading partner. In addition, MAPADOC can send a consolidated 855, which meets the requirements for Trans World.
